Technical Grade Lithium Carbonate Supplier
Li₂CO₃
Hayes Chemical Solutions sources and supplies technical grade lithium carbonate for industrial buyers in the UK and international markets. Discuss your specification, application and delivery requirements with an independent chemical trading partner.
About this product
Lithium carbonate (Li₂CO₃) is a white inorganic salt and one of the most widely used lithium compounds in industrial manufacturing. In its technical grade form it is a fine white powder with good solubility in dilute acid, valued across several industrial sectors for its unique chemical and physical properties.
In the ceramics and glass industry, lithium carbonate serves as a highly effective flux — reducing firing temperatures, improving melt flow and contributing to enhanced mechanical and thermal properties in the finished product. It is widely used in the production of sanitaryware, technical ceramics, vitreous enamels and specialty glass compositions.
In construction materials, lithium carbonate is used as an accelerator in cement-based systems and as an additive in specialty concrete formulations. It is also employed in chemical synthesis and as a reagent in various industrial chemical processing operations.
Key industrial applications
Ceramics and Technical Ceramics
Used as a flux in ceramic bodies and glazes to reduce firing temperatures and improve product quality in sanitaryware, tiles and technical ceramics.
Glass and Glass-Ceramics
Incorporated into specialty glass compositions including glass-ceramics, borosilicate glass and specialty optical glass to modify thermal expansion and improve performance.
Vitreous Enamels
Used as a fluxing agent and property modifier in vitreous enamel compositions applied to metals and ceramics.
Construction Materials
Employed as an accelerator and additive in cement, concrete and other construction material formulations.
Chemical Processing
Used as a reagent and intermediate in chemical synthesis and various industrial manufacturing operations.
